- Large duffel bag (if not waterproof, take polythene to put over if it rains)
- Sleeping bag (to withstand low temperatures down to minus 20)
- Sleeping bag liner - cotton or silk
- North Face down jacket
- Fleece with sleeves
- Fleece without sleeves
- Waterproof poncho (better to have lite waterproof jacket but expensive)
- T-shirts
- 1 pr shorts
- 1 pr warm-lined trekking trousers
- 1 pr lite trekking trousers
- 4 prs thick trekking socks plus 4 prs liner socks (to be worn together)
- Warm gloves plus gloves without fingers for reading in bed
- Warm pull-on hat (beanie)
- Baseball cap
- 2 shirts, one warm, one cotton
- Large T-shirt for sleeping
- 2 prs thermal leggings
- 2/3 polo necks, cotton
- 2/3 vests, thermal-type that take sweat away from body
- 6 prs pants (i.e. knickers)
- Comfy trousers and top for sitting round fire at night
- 2 long scarves, one warm, one cotton
- 2 large instant-drying towels (keep in plastic bag)
- 1 pr flip-flops for shower etc
- Scarpa trekking boots plus extra laces
- Trainers for evening wear
- Lycra neckbands to double as headbands
- Large cotton hankies for tying over nose and mouth (dust prevention)
- Bum bag
- 1 ski pole
- Head torch and extra batteries
- Swiss army penknife/twine/needle and thread/plug/lock for door
- Travel alarm clock
- Eye mask and ear plugs (take from plane)
- Tea lights and/or candles/ cig lighter
- Leisure: Poker dice, roll-up backgammon, paperbacks, diary, pens
- 20 L daypack & waterproof cover: sunglasses, tissues, loo roll, water bottle, survival blanket,whistle,baby wipes, sunscreen/block, Digital camera, picture cards, solar charger, Snacks such as small mars bars, bonbel cheeses, glucose sweets, salami, dry hand wash
